I was warned by my earliest mentor that "If you're not careful, this(horticulture) can get in your blood". I'm happy I didn't take her advice and instead fell madly, deeply in love with horticulture. I knew she told me this jokingly, since she owned a plant nursery, but I suppose she could see how plants were truly changing my life.

I first began my career in 2006 at a retail nursery in my home town. I told myself that this job was temporary, just for cashier experience. Next thing I knew, I was headed to Tarleton State University where I graduated in 2012 with a degree in Horticulture Business.

After college, I moved to Dallas, TX to work at North Haven Gardens as their first Container Specialist. This is where I was taught how to create terrariums and I was instantly hooked.

I decided it was time for me to further my career with more practical hands on experience, so I took a Horticulturist Supervisor position at the Dallas Arboretum. At the arboretum I designed containers in my garden, planted, pulled weeds, trimmed, watered, and a little bit of everything.
